Time with the Goldspurs

Bluemist came with me when I headed back over to the Goldspur’s farm today to see what else I could do to help.  Turns out it was a much more laid back day.

To start, Jakob asked me to take some sacks to the two mills. He was having a rough time with his back being out, so Bluemist and I were happy to help.

We found the two sacks by the silo and loaded the first one on Blue's back.

We dropped it by the first mill for him, then went back for the second sack.

Once the second sack was on, we headed for the mill that we fixed yesterday.

We left it right in front of the mill for them, then returned to Jakob. I don't know how he gets them up there with his bad back and all.

Blue was happy to have it off her back.

Jakob made me laugh again with his 1 Jorvik Shilling. The times sure aren't like they used to be! Milkshakes cost about 19 Shillings now!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to take his advice!

Next, Angus had a job for me. It seems Jakob's cooking is notoriously infamous in the Goldspur family. To spare them from the noxious fumes, Angus asked me if I would take a bagged lunch down to Jakob.

I got there just in time! Jakob was just about to head into the kitchen!

He was happy for the bagged lunch (I may have also made a plea case for his bad back a little bit) and said he'd put off his stew until tomorrow...uh oh!

With Jakob out of trouble, I went to see what the twin trouble makers were up to. Hannibal and Alexander challenged me to a game of hide-and-seek. I immediately became the seeker.

I found the first twin in the sunflower field.

I went up the road from there and heard some giggling above me. Trekking up the hill behind the house, I crept up on the second twin.

They were impressed with my hide-and-seek skills and wanted to play again sometime. They should know that a Soul Rider is very good at finding missing things!

I'm now pretty friendly with the Goldspurs.

Blue and I then went into Jarlaheim to do some work and run some races. While locating fire hydrants for Gavin, we noticed this closed booth that hadn't been in this corner before. Strange, but maybe it will be opening soon? I wonder what kinds of things they'll sell.

After doing some races in Moorland, Fort Pinta, at Steve’s, Landon’s, Will’s, and Marley’s, Blue leveled up to 7!  Tomorrow I’ll be working with Summer again.

Apple Picking and Straw Animals

Today was a fun day!

The Councilman asked me to check with Will about the Christmas apple buckets.

Will said they were clean and ready to go.

He sent me apple picking. Spirit and I traveled all the way to the apple grove across the Silversong River and collected 30 of them!

He told me the area was usually called Apple Bay and that no one knows who planted the apple trees there. Rumor has it it was a fruit bat that dropped seeds from the apples he was carrying, but no one really knows for sure.

Now to see if the horses like the apples!

Martina needed my help assembling what she called "Christmas books." I was really expecting *books* but that's not at all what she meant!

All the materials were organized on the floor, so I got to work.

And this is what I ended up making...Christmas GOATS!

And this is what I ended up making…Christmas GOATS!

Ornaments, Lights, and Torches

12-5 white ornaments  Just as I predicted, the Councilman spoke to me about white ornaments for the tree.  I didn’t have the heart to tell him about us trading Will the white for the red ornaments and ran to see if Steve had an alternative.

12-5 steve white

12-5 silver He suggested silver, which made me happy.  Hopefully they will be luxurious enough for the villagers and the Councilman.

12-5silver Even though the villagers asked for white, the Councilman seemed to think that the silver would be good enough.  Thank goodness!

12-5 tree silver I like it so far!

12-5 lights  When I got done, the Councilman sent me to 5 different barns to hang Christmas lights.

12-5 stable lights  I went to Steve’s, Valedale, Firgrove, Moorland, and the Manor.

12-5 torches My last task was to set up the Christmas torches around the village.  He had me set two at each of the three entrances, and two at each staircase.

12-5 torches set up Christmas torches to light the way!

12-5mulled wine  When I’d finished in the village, I ran over to the Winery to help the Baroness fill up bottles with their Christmas mulled wine.

12-5 bottles  I picked up 12 bottles and carried them over to the barrel.

12-5 bottles filled  One barrel and 12 bottles later, I was all done!
